I thoroughly enjoyed the class yesterday and feel like it is just what I need at this point in time. I noticed a difference as I walked home afterwards compared to how stiff and achy I was as I walked to the class. I felt so much more relaxed and loose-limbed.

CLASS DETAILS - ALL:

Classes in local halls or studios will tend to be 8 -10 people maximum and last for 1 hour. Smaller classes allow me to focus on individuals as well as the whole group when planning and teaching the class.

I also do 1:1 or small group classes as required and where available. Please contact me to discuss this option.

Group Classes can be Mixed ability, or can be focused on Beginners, Gentle, Improvers or Intermediate levels. I would be happy to discuss which level of class would best suit you. Do give me a call on 07947 023244 or email on sarah@pilatesforlife.uk or use the Contact Form.

All classes are mat based and sometimes involve small equipment. Due to personal health and safety guidelines it is recommended that individuals provide their own , and I am happy to help source or advise on this.

All classes ( face to face and online) build on the principles of Body Control Pilates, developing mobility, strength and body awareness. They will help you to establish and build on a foundation knowledge of exercises before any progressions are introduced as appropriate and to encourage individual development.

If you are new to Body Control Pilates, or to Pilates for Life, please contact Sarah to discuss your circumstances and that this is a suitable type of exercise: we would recommend that you check with your Doctor before starting a new programme of exercise if you have any underlying health issues.

Ideally I suggest that everyone does an initial 1:1 consultation before starting classes, to discuss your Pilates experience , any history of injuries or conditions and to allow me to assess which might be the best class for you. All new clients are required to complete an enrolment form for safety and insurance reasons.

Prices are listed at the bottom of this page.

“What I most appreciate is Sarah’s attention to detail: her eagle eye spots the least deviation from right breathing or muscle use - and getting the basics right has meant that my practices are building on a solid foundation.” Vikki

Online Classes using Zoom

I started hosting online classes when restrictions were in place. These continue to be available as an alternative to face to face classes. They can also be used as a catch up class (where there is a space), if you have signed up to a block but have to miss a class. This only applies within a block of classes and requires 24 hours notice.

NOT SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS OR REHAB

Current online classes run as follows:

Mondays - 6pm, Improvers

Wednesdays - 6pm, Improvers

How does a Zoom Pilates class work?

Setting up a Zoom account is free and simple to do, and once installed on your mobile/laptop/tablet (camera & microphone features needed), you are then able to access each live class via a link emailed directly to you. I would be happy to help you set this up if required. You only need enough space for you and your mat, and a decent WIFI connection.

During each class you will see and hear live coverage on your screen of me directing and demonstrating the exercises. Importantly, I am able to see you, individually, on my screen and which allows me to give you immediate and personal feedback throughout the class.

My groups are small (up to 6 maximum) to allow for this, and I make sure to both demonstrate and direct carefully.

If you are new to my classes, I do request that you do an initial consultation session (online) so that we can discuss any previous experience, injuries or conditions on which I can advise and to establish the best class for you. Prices are listed at the bottom of this page.

“I could not manage without my weekly workout, which keeps me stretched and mobile. Sarah also takes great care when we have a particular problem - recently I had a bike accident and pranged my wrist. She always finds an alternative exercise if some part of your body has a difficulty. And she is always cheerful and encouraging.” Ann

Private classes

In person 1:1 sessions are available .

See details above for information how Zoom classes work. Face to face private classes can take place in your own home or at Carnon Downs as convenient. Please contact me to discuss this further.

Private sessions might suit you if you are new to Pilates and want to see what it involves but without being in a group setting, or if you simply prefer to work on a 1:1 basis. If you would like to link up with a friend, 1:2 sessions can also be arranged.
